Rhoadie Trip

Grand Place, Brussels

In only two short weeks Siena begins her school years.  With Kindergarten just around the corner and life moving from flexible to being planned around the school calendar, we decided to get a quick vacation in.   With our plans all set, Siena spent a “pre-kindergarten week” week at her school to get ready for the coming year and came home with a travel companion, Rhoadie.  Rhoadie is the school mascot and for this vacation was also Siena’s travel companion.

With Rhoadie in tow, we set off for Brussels, Belgium.   When we arrived we headed out to enjoy what Belgium does best, chocolate.    We journeyed in the Grand Place area which is filled with beautiful buildings, chocolate and lace shops.   We enjoyed a tasting tour of chocolate on our way up the street and then bought chocolates to go all the way back down the street.

Since we still had a little room for some dinner, we hit Café Leon for some Mussels in Brussels.  For our first night in town it was a good start to our trip.
