Our little girl is now 5.
A monumental birthday (aren’t they all) which, as always, required a
wonderful theme. For those without small
children, there are really only two birthday themes in the summer of 2014. If
you are a girl, it’s Frozen and if you are boy, it’s the Lego Movie. While I assumed we were destined to be
spending time with Elsa and Anna, our little free spirit had her own
plans. Siena wanted a princess tea party
with her favorite princess, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty for the non-Disney crowd). The look on her face was priceless when she arrived at her party.

As she always does, Lisa went to town making the plans and
the decorations. With Grandma Gail, Grandpa Dan and cousin Mikey in town for
the event we set up the castle party hall in our neighborhood club house.
Pink and blue were theme of the day and the
decorations brought the somewhat castle-like room to life.
Kate McInerney baked cupcakes and frosted
them in blue to provide the complement to the pink princess Aurora cake (make it pink,
make it blue).
And our princess broke
out her Aurora dress for the party.

We had an amazing turnout of friends from our new
neighborhood and from the OC. Siena’s
friends dressed for the occasion and of course there was a princess. Aurora made an appearance, told stories, sang
songs, did some face painting and crowned a birthday princess. A dream is a wish your heart makes, a great
party is something your friends and family make. It was
a great party (measured by many smiles and lots of laughter) and our little princess got a little older.
