Amsterdam was the next stop on our vacation tour. Known, or notorious, for being a free to
express yourself culture, Amsterdam was a fun city to visit. When we arrived we navigated our way across
town to a wonderful apartment Lisa had found that sat on a canal in the
Museumplein area (add the tram to Rhoadie’s modes of transportation this
trip.)
It was on the trip to Amsterdam by train that we Siena shared her own special version of where we were going. We are going to "For Netherlands" she told us. We explained it was the "the" Netherlands, but she simply wouldn't adjust her pronunciation. So, if you ask her about our trip you will find out went to For Netherlands.

Once settled in we headed out to find dinner and to see some
of the city.
As we searched for a good
place to eat, one thing became pretty apparent, this isn’t exactly a city
filled with children.
After a good
dinner where Siena might have been the only person under 20, we ventured into
Dam Square.

The city was very alive
since it was Saturday night and the revelry of the young was everywhere.
Loud chanting and singing.
Lighting flares and running through the city
with them.
Packs of twenty-something
males and females celebrating life was all quite a sight for Siena.
She was inquisitive and momentarily
intimidated.
But then being the little
girl she is she took to running through the square and dancing.
People actually were watching her.
For fear that she might head to a coffee
house, we eventually corralled her and headed home for the night.
