All My Loving

Tubby time! Each night when it is bath time we get to share what has become a very special family ritual. A family sing along.

While I can’t remember the exact day I started doing it, one night when Siena was a bit younger and we were still trying to make bath-time a fun event, I sang a song to her. We needed her to close her eyes and instead of just asking her to close her eyes I sang the words from a Beatles song that popped into my head, “close your eyes and I’ll kiss you.” Siena closed her eyes and it seemed to work. Every night since then we sing the song to her as we wash her face and hair.

This week something new happened. Siena started singing the words too.

While it started out as a fun way to get my little girl to close her eyes so she didn’t get soap in them, it has also started to take on a new meaning. As Siena is growing up she is realizing I travel for work. So it has a special message in it because now when I sing it I also want her to know just how much I miss her and her mom when I am away.

I know one day she will read all we are writing in this blog about her life, and so I want my little girl to have these simple but very special words to know just how much I love her and her mom. They truly have All My Loving.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
Tomorrow I'll miss you;
Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home every day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.

I'll pretend that I'm kissing
The lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home every day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.

All my loving
I will send to you.
All my loving, darling
I'll be true.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
Tomorrow I'll miss you:
Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home every day,
And I'll send all my loving to you

All my loving
I will send to you.
All my loving
Darling I'll be true.
All my loving
All my loving, oo,
All my loving
I will send to you
