Back in Austria we went to Hanger 7. Hanger 7 is a public display of wealth at its finest. If you have a lot of money, some neat hobbies and a collection of very special toys, this is the way to show them off. Located in an amazing airport hanger the owner of the Red Bull brand houses his collection of planes, helicopters, Formula One race cars and some amazing art work and sculptures. Throw in a few of Salzburg’s finest restaurants and you have Hanger 7. A perfect stop for a rainy day.
As it was our last night on vacation, we thought we would head out for one last dinner. We ended up seeing a lot of Salzburg, but could not find (or find parking at) three different restaurants we went looking for. Simply bizarre. So we decided to go with room service. As we learned, vacation with baby isn’t like we used to do it. Lights out at 8:00 pm. Seems our days are much shorter with Siena there. So we enjoyed a really nice dinner in the dark as Siena slept by our side. Actually, a great way to end a great trip.
The next morning we got an early start and head back to Frankfurt for our flight. With our check tire pressure light a glow in the car we arrived safely and flew home. For those who are wondering, Siena was great both going to Germany and coming home. She made lots of new friends on the planes and entertained flight crews and passengers alike. As a business traveler who cringes at the sight of a little one I was fearful, but she was wonderful and I would take her away again tomorrow. The key to success is she has to have her own seat. Yes, it is an expense, but well worth it for her (and us) to have her own space.
I don’t think I had my first passport before I was in my 20’s. Siena had hers a 6 months and now has her first foreign stamps at 13 months of age. Our little world traveler. Our trip leaves us with special memories and pictures we can share with her some day and we can say, “look you there you are at….” Our first real vacation as a family, we have so many more to look forward to.
