Revisting The Pink Sombrero

For those who recently caught my message on The Pink Sombrero, here is a follow-up to the story. You might have noticed that I could not remember why my dad had gone off to Mexico, only that he brought me back some memorable gifts.

Well, I guess someone must be reading this blog afterall. I got a call from my uncle Frank this morning after he read the story and he told me all about why my father was in Mexico. He was there to design and oversee the installation of a plumbing system in steel mill that was being built. I will withhold the thoughts my dad shared on qualifications of the laborers, but can say he was not impressed. Apparently he made 2 trips down there, so that would also better explain the 2 memorable gifts.

Now it is all here in writing, so when I can't remember why he was there in the future I will now have a reference point. The story was special to begin with; it gets more special when other family members participate in the conversation. My uncle Frank and I had a nice time talking about and remembering my dad today.

Everyone please take notes as we go along here so you can tell my little girl stories about me one day.
