Ooh Fish

Day two of the staycation, Aquarium of the Pacific. Off to Long Beach to see the fish. The aquarium is a nice sized facility that can be navigated in one day, even with 50 bus loads of summer campers in the building. The aquarium focuses on the marine life of the Pacific Ocean and offers an array of wonderful fish and mammals.

The Pacific is apparently inhabited by quite a few large and colorful fish. All of which move fast. So, this one was right up Siena's alley, bright colors that move fast. It was fun to watch her as we went from exhibit to exhibit and her eyes got as big as saucers. With such large tanks to look at and, many at her eye level, her little eyes were on the move. Big, fish, little fish. Red fish, blue fish. So many fish to look at.

Outside we found our first "touch the starfish" experience, it drew tears. Our second touch the fish experience (about 30 seconds later) went much better. The sharks and sea otters were very big and moved constantly, so they were fun to watch and easy to spot. Siena would watch them as they went by with her head and eyes following their movement.

Now as much as Siena loved the aquarium, it was an even bigger hit with mommy. Lisa loves to watch the fish. This probably explains the recent addition to our household, a Betta fish. Not so sure Siena digs her own little fish, but Lisa loves a fish. Lisa loved seeing an touching the sea life and took a lot of pictures to remember the trip. Me, I just loved watching my two girls enjoying themselves so much. Yeah, the fish were cool too.
