This is my first blog post ever (I'm in the game now) and while I usually leave the writing to Dave because he does it so beautifully I wanted to share some very special pictures of our Siena and a story.
Several weeks ago I took a digital photography class to improve the few skills I had and learn more about technique, lighting and using manual functions on our digital camera.
I love taking pictures and I have such an amazing subject to photograph so it was a great time to pick the hobby back up and seriously shoot. Plus my very thoughtful husband gave me a Macro Lens for Mother’s Day and it’s such a fun one to use! So I’ve been practicing and taking hundreds of pictures at a time in my quest to get better and get just the perfect one. By the way, you really have to take hundreds to get a few good ones but just edit, edit, edit!
So once or twice every month I set up time to photograph Siena. Up to this point it’s been fairly staged because she hasn’t been able to crawl or move around a lot. I’ve been pleased with the pictures because she’s so darn cute, how could they not be perfect. But, I am not really proud of my abilities and since I don’t have extensive photoshop skills (that class is coming up in August) I depend on a good shot the first time. A few weeks ago when she started crawling and standing I had my first opportunity to really get her in action. So I decided to just let her play and work around her. I shot about 500 images in an hour and was really proud of a few of them and felt like my practice was starting to pay off.
