Her First Everything

As we enter into the holiday season it has become very apparent that this one will be different. Yes, Siena is a special addition and well, this is her first everything! As any new parent learns, there are a lot of firsts. Luckily Hallmark has a card for every last one of them.

So in the spirit of the season and getting caught up with everyone, here is the latest batch of firsts….

Halloween 2009

Our little giraffe. Yes, at three months of age, Siena selected a great costume for Halloween, a giraffe. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to be a Pea in a Pod, a Pumpkin or Giraffe. The giraffe was very cute and just the right size – 6 months. Yes, she is well above the 100th percentile on length so far, so I think it was quite the appropriate choice. This obviously leads one to ponder is this type of thing going to scar the child in the future.  If she continues to grow at this pace we will begin shopping for the gazelle costume for next year now.

Her first Halloween candy; Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Not too much trick or treating, but a whole lot of looking cute and spending time with mommy.

Thanksgiving 2009

Every year we share our holidays with our many friends. This year, like most, we spent it with the Gosswiller and Carfioli families. The Gosswiller’s hosted this year and prepared a wonderful meal. Turkey was moist and tasty and the side dishes were great. A little pumpkin pie and some great carrot cake cupcakes to top it off and a wonderful meal was enjoyed by all.

This Thanksgiving gave us much to be thankful for. Obviously Bella and Siena, but we were also lucky enough to share a pre-Thanksgiving meal with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Dan. Siena loved her visit with her Grandma and Grandpa. We were able to share the meal with the Heaton’s, Kallie, Guy and Guy’s mom, Austen. Can you say more Turkey? Yes, two turkeys in one month. Why it is enough to put you to sleep for much of the holiday season.

With trips back East planned for both December and January, we are sure to ring a few more firsts. Before you know it we may even get a few seconds.
