Counting Our Blessings

We are truly blessed this year with some many wonderful things. Our health, our family, and our friends. This Thanksgiving we enjoyed our time with the Goswillers and Carfiolis in what has become our annual tradition; watch the parade (West Coast tape delay, we don’t get up at 6 am), then the National Dog Show (root, root, root for the Aussie Shepherd’s with Bella) and then off to Coto De Caza for dinner. No football games, there hasn’t been a good game on Thanksgiving in years. It always makes for a relaxing day and good start to the holiday season.

This year we were even more blessed than usual by our friends. Not one or two but four invitations for Thanksgiving dinner. While I would like to believe it’s my charm, wit and funny stories that garnered such attention, I would suspect it might be something or shall I say someone else that has us higher up on the invite list these days. The Strengers, Valkers and Heatons were all very kind with their invitations and we look forward to spending some portion of our holiday season with them. Everyone will get their baby fix, I promise.

So, add one more perk to the baby on board status, not needing to cook holiday meals. Bring a cute baby and a bottle of wine and you can free load a good meal. I guess we better take advantage of the cute baby stage now since I am not so sure a noisy toddler gets you a lot of meal invites. Luckily for us we have some pretty great friends, so we might still get invited next year.
