The answer to this question is really simple. No man could do it. It requires too much patience and way too much hard work. If men carried babies there would only be c-sections and they would all be scheduled 3 weeks in advance of the due date. Let's get on with it is a very manly mindset.
So here we sit, 3 babies born in the rooms around us today and our little girl is beginning to look a little lonely on the recap of rooms waiting for babies. The night team is in and Julie is taking care of us. Another really good nurse, we are doing really well in that department. Sheri is also roaming the halls, so we have two great nurses watching after us tonight.
I think we now have a name, so baby can come out now. It was nice of her to wait while we figured it out. Of course, if she looks like something else, all bets are off. I guess the element of surprise remains a little.
Lisa is a trooper today. She looks so tired, and the really hard part isn't here yet. Waiting on the doctor to visit and tell us how things are going. I have my fingers crossed. If you are an East Coast family member or friend, I hope you wake up in the morning and find good news here. Maybe August 1 won't be the day after all. She was due on August 4, let's hope that doesn't turn out to be the date.
Another baby is being born as I write this, we are really falling behind the pace at the hospital today. Oh well, maybe we're just saving the best for last.
Doctor just visited. 90% effaced but only 3 cm so active labor is just around the corner, but baby is still a ways off. My cousin Danny gets to keep August 1 all to himself for a birthday. She's coming, but she wants to make sure mommy gets the full experience.
Well that brings you along for the last hour and half of our ride, typing when I can.
