Early May brought us back to New Jersey to celebrate my sister Debbie’s 40th Birthday. It was a short trip and we barely had enough time to visit with our family, but managed to see a lot of folks courtesy of Debbie’s birthday party. It was a nice event and being a few weeks after her birthday seemed to actually be a surprise.
We also had a chance to visit with some of the Porcelli clan. First stop was a visit with Lauren, Bobby (her fiancée), Elizabeth and Nick. It was great to see and visit with some family we hadn’t seen in a while, and to introduce Siena to more of her family. Aunt Elizabeth doted after her niece as always and Siena absolutely loves spending time with her. Lauren and Bobby are very happy together and it is wonderful to see Lauren doing well. Nick is headed off to Franklin and Marshall this fall to pursue both his academic and athletic pursuits. We hope to be able to see one of his football games in the fall.

We also had a chance to visit with Frank, Laurel and Waverly. Frank made a sensational homemade Italian feast for us and we enjoyed having a chance to spend time with our family and enjoying our time with them.
One thing that we definitely saw during our visit home is how well Siena connected with her family and especially her cousins. While she didn’t get to visit with Waverly due to some illness issues, she absolutely had a blast playing with Brendon, Kyra, Griffin, Mikey and Sara. Being around her family is something we hope we give Siena more of in the future as it truly is an important part of her growing up.
It was a nice visit home, albeit too short.
