Alas it is true, they do not. I have decided to raise my daughter as a Mets fan. Yes, it will be an education in character and patience. After all, if you are going to route for the Mets, you have to get accustomed to long days and their unique ability of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Siena went to her second Mets game, this time in Los Angeles. While the team hung around long enough for her to see almost the entire pitching staff again (see my early post about our trip to San Diego if you didn’t get the joke), the result was no better. Walk off homer in the 13th after stranding runners all over the place. Luckily fine managing ensured that our best reliever was still in the bullpen when the final blow was struck. Ah yes, the Mets were in town and the Dodger fans were glad to see them.
Sorry Siena maybe we will get luckier next time. We did at least have a beautiful day and a good time with our friends Justin and Scott. Let’s go Mets!
