For her fourth birthday Siena wanted a a Wizard of Oz themed party. We did our usual understated event and our little Dorothy followed the yellow brick road into a new year. So, when the Wizard of Oz came to town we had to take her to the see the show.
The show is a great production and Siena donned the Dorothy outfit once again for the night in the theater. She loved the show and was as usual, super cute.
The show, however, triggered the I want to know more reflex children have and she asked about tornadoes and what they were. In this time of instant gratification, courtesy of the Ipad, we showed her a few pictures and told her about the winds from the storms. Parenting 101 alert, pre-screen for age appropriateness and think abut what you are doing first. No the pictures weren't that bad, but Siena latched on to the idea and now is possessed with "tornado dreams" and has asked 100 more questions about tornadoes. I think we have convinced her that we don't have them here, only in Kansas. So now she is afraid of Kansas. Not sure that is actually so bad.
