Take a Little Off the Top Please

Three years, 2 months and 9 days.  That is how long Siena went without a haircut.  Today she got her first haircut.  Not much cut cut off, but three years in we finally get that first lock of hair for us to cherish and put into a small box that says first curl. 

I do realize that I do not really want to encourage any hurrying into a regular cycle of haircuts for my little girl.  I will surely have many of those to look forward to throughout her life.  Yet, the first one is special.  I think mommy cried when they cut that first lock of hair.  Daddy attended via Skype and got to witness a very quick trim. 

Thanks to Debbie Brown, our friend and "my hair cutter" as Siena would tell you.  She wanted to have her own hair cutter and it couldn't be a boy.    Not so sure she wants to have to share a hair cutter with mommy, but she seemed intrigued by a whole new experience.
