I'm a Star

Siena received her first trophy today for her good efforts in her gymnastics class   She was very excited and did a great job of displaying her trophy atop the podium.  Such a little ham.

She has been attending the Cal Elite gymnastics program for a few months and is learning to tumble, swing and balance herself as she moves amongst the kid size apparatus.  Her sense of balance is good, she will hang on to anything she can like a little monkey and she can do an unassisted forward roll.  In recognition of her efforts she gets a small trophy and a certificate of achievement.

To say she was excited would be a bit of an understatement.  She will not put the trophy down and has asked that it be prominently displayed on her dresser.  I am not sure she really understands the significance of what a trophy means, but she is absolutely intrigued by the three stars on the award and it's pretty gold color.

It is fun to see her excited by the award and the ceremony where she got it.   Good effort gets rewarded, a good early childhood lesson to learn.
