Last year when Siena was just a few months old we took her to the pumpkin patch to celebrate the start of fall and Halloween. It was one of her many “firsts” and now is one of her growing list of things she has done again. This year Grandma Gail and Grandpa Dan joined us for our trip to Tanaka Farms, home of the most expensive pumpkins in Orange Country.

While it was fun to prop Siena up against a few pumpkins for pictures last year (she was actually smaller than most of them), this year she enjoyed the visit. She wandered the pumpkin patch, played amongst the orange gourds and picked out her own pumpkin. We rode the tractor ride around the farm and Siena pointed to all the things we needed to see. She played with the other kids amongst the hay and got to walk all over the place.

As we left with our $35 dollars worth of pumpkins it hit me for the first time that we were doing things for a second time and a second year with Siena. People tell you they grow up so fast and you don’t believe them because you can barely keep up with the pace of change in your own life. But they do grow up fast and I can see how amazing it is going to be watching our little girl grow up.
