A Child of God

On Palm Sunday, the day that celebrates Jesus arriving in Jerusalem Siena celebrated her arrival into the Christian faith. Through her baptism she became a child of god. On this Passion Sunday, the church was beautifully decorated for the holiday and the congregation was warm and welcoming as always. With Grandma and Grandpa Rader visiting, Frank and Carol Carfioli as her godparents, Alex and Lauren Carfioli taking pictures and our new friends from the church attending, Siena was baptized.

Siena was a doll throughout the service and her baptism. She was the perfect happy baby, didn’t squirm (too much- Mom did make one great save), didn’t spit up on Pastor Greg and was all smiles as she was introduced to the congregation. So with the support of her godparents Siena was baptized in Christ’s name and became a child of god. We truly appreciate Carol and Frank as friends every day, but are especially blessed to know they will be part of Siena’s life in this way.

I am sure a few of you are probably just learning that our family had joined a church. A few months back we joined the congregation of Community Lutheran Church in Rancho Santa Margarita. While we have good Christian roots and beliefs, we knew that it would be best for Siena to have a more formal Christian upbringing and that meant finding a good church. Community Lutheran is the right place for Siena and us to get that experience. We hope some of you will be able to join us on Sunday to enjoy the church as well.
