Bouncing Like A Bunny

The Easter Bunny cometh. Yes indeed, another first, Siena’s first Easter. For her first Easter, Siena donned a cute little spring dress, her baby chick purse with bunny inside and headed to church. After a wonderful service, we enjoyed a pancake breakfast with the youth group and then on to an egg hunt.

That’s right, her very first Easter egg hunt with the big kids. The big kids were very nice and helped Siena find some eggs which she picked up all by herself. After collecting her eggs, she turned them in for her bag of Easter candy. In all a very busy morning for our little girl.

But Easter was just beginning. Once we arrived home we found the Easter Bunny had left baskets around the house. One had hand dyed Easter eggs. It has been a long time since we dyed eggs; it’s funny what having a child will do for you. Siena quickly pulled through all the candy and got to the stuff she was most interested in, the envelopes from the cards and the plastic grass. After sharing our Easter baskets, we played with Bella and shared some Easter treats with our pal.

One other new twist this Easter was that there were presents, yes that is right, toys. Now here is an interesting fact, the Easter Bunny isn’t any better at putting together toys than Santa Claus was. Do none of these seasonal present bringers own a screw driver? Well, as you would expect that left dad to try his best. For those who know just how handy I am in you surely realize that the thing that scared me most about being a parent is the words “some assembly required.” To date, I have done alright, but as Siena gets older, I have noticed there are more parts in the box each time.

We followed our celebration at home and headed to Frank and Carol Carfioli’s house to share Easter dinner with the Carfioli and Goswiller families. Dinner was wonderful and provided us with another first, Siena’s first earthquake. Yes indeed, the biggest earth quake we have felt since we moved to California. This was followed with a nice aftershock. Happy Southern Californian Easter, the Easter bunny wasn’t the only one bouncing this year. Despite a little shaking, we enjoyed a wonderful meal with our West Coast family. Our friends make the holidays special and Siena brings extra joy to each holiday.
