Cirque Du Siena

The Grand Chapiteau is up in the Great Park. So the Cirque Du Soleil must be in town. The traveling Cirque show, Kooza, opened this weekend in the OC and we took Siena to see her first circus. Not quite the child friendly Ringling Brothers, but a circus none the less.

The traveling Cirque shows are always done in an intimate venue, so there isn’t really a bad seat in the house. However, we went out of our way to get an aisle seat just in case we need to make a quick departure. As it turns out we got to see the entire show.  Two and half hours of circus with half hour intermission.

It was a great show and Siena was very excited to be there. Yes, many of you are probably reading this thinking we might want to research the term “babysitter” a little, but we love to take her with us and see how it goes (probably since it has always gone pretty well so far). Last night was another good experience. Siena did sleep through a little of the show, but she was locked in on the colorfulness and fast pace of the show most of the time. With so much of the show going on above the stage, it was pretty easy for a little person to see over the people in front of her.

Lisa loved the Unicycle Duo performance and I was impressed with the Wheel of Death. Siena was impressed with all of it. Who knew her eyes and smile could get so big? It looks like the circus could be a hit with our little girl as she grows up. As we were leaving we ran into a couple with a 5 week old, so I guess we aren’t the craziest parents in Orange County.
