Oh My God. I always thought OMG was an interesting term since it is usually used when God has failed to intervene and all hell has broken loose. Well, OMG it is this week.
While loading software to our personal computer, the one where Lisa had set up her business and was doing all her work, the one that holds all our pictures, itunes and personal files, we got a failure message when it went to restart. And it still hasn't started. Off to the Geek Squad we go, but the news just gets worse. Not only is the machine dead (hard drive crash) but the data isn't recoverable either. Maybe if we spend between $800 and $2000 they can recover some of the information. Of course you pay the money either way, info or not.
So a few things for all to think about......
1. What is your information really worth? The thought of putting a number to these things will make you sick.
2. New computers are really cheaper than fixing old ones. Lisa likes her new machine.
2. Have you backed up your computer lately? We owned two back-up systems but not everything was backed up. We now own a backup drive that can hold a Terabyte of data (it only cost $79 or $10 more than it cost me to find out I couldn't get anything off the dead computer). Want to bet we find religion when it comes to backing up our machines.
3. If you haven't heard from for a while or don't get a Christmas card, please don't be offended, we probably don't have your address anymore.
BACK UP REGULARLY, DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!
OMG!!!!
